Ok so here is the vembracers /bracers / gauntlets 2.0 from my riddick set up.

Right arm: we black duct taped the forearm guard, which looked well contrasted against teh leather straps i added. the best way to achieve the right hand strap look was to take a leather black bowling glove for a lefty, remove the plate and wear it on the right hand. it offered the 2 straps on the wrist area and one on the upper hand. best i can do on a budget.
also a thin black leather belt strap wrapped around the forearm. the leather straps are OVER the elastics which hold the armguard in place at the wist and forearm.

Left arm: same belt the goggles were made from now hit the wrist, might add another thin strap over that, and the thin strap again at the forearm.

at the moment they are not attached by anything, just duct tape but im leaning towards black velcro squares, or snaps because when i flex my forearm i bust the velcro =/

i may also just replace the upper straps w/ belt buckel straps so i can buckle it shut. and use a similar one around the thick band of the lower left hand so no adhesive its required at all. works for my black metal gauntlets.
